Have you ever wondered how the Dinefwr Estate worked? Join us to find our more about the smaller, less grand buildings that made Dinefwr the succesful estate it was, and how we're preserving them for the years to come.

Ram Houses, Pump Houses, Ice Houses, Water Wheels... some of the most integral parts of the estate, but often not as widely celebrated. Last year, following one of the many storms, a tree fell on to one of these building. After carefully removing the tree, we were delighted to find that the 100 year old pump was unscathed. The last few months have seen the meticulous rebuild of the historic little house that protects it.
This has been a true masterclass in historic preservation and conservation. The stone was carefully sorted and put back together again like a giant puzzle. Stones tiles were found to match the ones that weren’t shattered. And most amazingly the timber used to rebuild the roof, was milled from the very tree that shattered it.

The talk will take place in the Dining Room of Newton House, head to the hall where the friendly team will be able to direct you.
- Accessibility
The Dining Room is on the ground floor of Newton House, there is a small ramp to access the house, and a slight incline from the Car Park to the front door.

We have so many treats for you this May Half Term. Come and dress up in the Drawing Room, play games in the Basement, find the 8 Lego figures hidden around the house, explore 800 acres of parkland and a castle on a hill, or enjoy super bog wood walk.
